General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Mr. Khaled Sehili, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Tunisia (photo), and his accompanying delegation, during their visit to Egypt.
An official reception ceremony was held in his honor at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, during which the national anthems of both countries were played by the military music.
The meeting addressed a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries. Discussions also covered the latest regional and international developments, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The two Ministers also co-chaired the closing session of the 18th meeting of the Egyptian-Tunisian Military Cooperation Committee, which included a number of topics related to supporting prospects for joint cooperation and exchanging expertise across various military fields for both sides.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces expressed his pride in the historic Egyptian-Tunisian relations, affirming the General Command’s commitment to further enhancing military cooperation between the Egyptian and Tunisian armed forces.
For his part, the Tunisian Minister of National Defense praised the depth and strength of the longstanding bilateral relations, expressing his aspiration for the upcoming period to witness further joint cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries.
