His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Armed Forces, received Tuesday Lieutenant General Zac Stenning, Commander of the British Land Forces.

His Majesty the King expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in its longstanding and distinguished relations and close partnership with the United Kingdom, built on years of alliance, cooperation and joint coordination, particularly under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which contributes to achieving shared goals.

His Majesty affirmed Bahrain’s continued commitment to developing these relations in all areas in support of the shared goals and interests of the two countries and their peoples.

His Majesty the King further commended the vital role played by the UK internationally and its contributions to strengthening regional and global security, stability and peace, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

For his part, the British Land Forces Commander expressed appreciation for His Majesty the King’s efforts to strengthen the longstanding partnership and enhance military and defence cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, also met Tuesday with Lieutenant General Zac Stenning CB OBE, Commander Land Forces of the United Kingdom, and an accompanying delegation, at Riffa Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom across various fields, particularly in the military and defence sectors.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasised that Bahrain-UK relations are underpinned by shared partnerships and agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA), which contribute to advancing shared goals and aspirations.

His Royal Highness welcomed Lieutenant General Stenning and the accompanying delegation, highlighting the joint national commitment to deepening coordination and advancing this strategic partnership at various levels, in support of the prosperity and growth of both nations.

During the meeting, the latest regional and international developments, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest, were discussed.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and several senior officials were in attendance.

Lastly, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, also received Lieutenant General Zac Stenning, Commander of the British Land Forces.

Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor, was present.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad affirmed the depth of the historical ties between Bahrain and the UK, and their strong cooperation.  His Highness noted the importance of continuing to build on the advanced cooperation achieved between the two countries, to serve their shared interests and aspirations.

The meeting reviewed existing areas of cooperation and coordination between the two Kingdoms and means to strengthen and develop them.  It also discussed topics of mutual interest, as well as efforts to consolidate security, stability and peace in the region.

Earlier, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Majdi Harasis received on Sunday Commander of the British Land Forces Lt. General Zak Stenning and an accompanying delegation at General Headquarters in Amman.

Both sides discussed avenues for joint coordination and mechanisms to enhance defence cooperation across various military fields, aimed at advancing bilateral relations and serving the mutual interests of the armed forces in both friendly nations, according to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) statement.

The meeting was attended by senior JAF Officers and the British Defence Attaché in Amman.
