Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy have signed an extension to the ISS contract in force since 2019. This new agreement covers a period of five years, during which teams of engineers and technicians will maintain seven vessels: the multi-mission frigate (FREMM) Tahya Misr, the two Egyptian Landing Helicopter Docks (E-LHD) Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar El Sadat, and the four Gowind® corvettes El Fateh, Port Said, El Moez and Al Ismailia.
The signing of this extension strengthens the collaboration between Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy, which began around ten years ago, and ensures Naval Group’s long-term presence in the country. Naval Group will provide work opportunities for Egyptian employees to expand its teams in Egypt.
Discussions are also underway to forge new partnerships with Egyptian suppliers who will participate in ship maintenance operations alongside Naval Group and the Egyptian Navy.
“We are honoured to extend our cooperation with the Egyptian Navy and to continue our support in the maintenance and modernisation of its fleet,” said Pierre Eric Pommellet, Chairman and CEO of Naval Group.
Naval Group has been present in Egypt for around ten years.
