Qatar’s Chief of Staff Visits 18th Infantry Brigade in Turkey

HE Lieutenant-General (Plot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces (QAF), paid a visit to the headquarters of the 18th Infantry Brigade to inspect the Qatari Amiri Land Forces participating in the joint exercises between Qatar Armed Forces and their Turkish counterparts.

The brigade command held a briefing on the progress of the training, during which the Chief of Staff reviewed the Qatari-Turkish joint field exercise, its stages, and the activities scheduled to be carried out.

Lieutenant-General Al Mannai commanded the performance of the participants, directing them to continue working and developing in a way that enhances professionalism and combat efficiency.

He also met with members of Qatar Land Forces taking part in the exercise and thanked them for their dedicated efforts, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

During the visit, he also met with Lieutenant-General Mohammed Özran, Commander of the 2nd Division of the Turkish Land Forces.

The Chief of Staff was accompanied during the visit by Major-General Jassim Al Al Arsiyah, commander of Qatar Amiri Land Forces, Major-General Mohammed Rashid Al Awami, president of the International Military Cooperation Authority, the Qatari Defence Attache to Turkey, and the commander of the Land Forces Training Center, along with a number of senior QAF officers.

In another development, Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani met in with Minister of Interior of Syria Anas Khattab and his accompanying delegation in Doha on Thursday.

The meeting reviewed cooperation in security and ways to enhance them, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
