The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that its ground force has successfully test-fired a domestically-build missile with high precision which enjoys advanced technologies to strike targets from above and defeat the active protection system (APS) of tanks.

The missile, dubbed “Sadid-365”, is a guided anti-armor missile with a range of 8 kilometers and is capable of demolishing various types of armored equipment.

The optically guided missile is highly accurate in hitting the target and can also pass through the barrier of the active defense systems of tanks and smash them thanks to the ability to attack from above, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.

Head of the Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization of the IRGC Ground Force General Ali Kouhestani said the missile has retractable wings and a fire-control system.

He added that armored personnel carriers in the Iranian armed forces will be equipped with four of missiles each.

Meanwhile, Iranian Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari said that a homemade precision-guided missile has been handed over to the Airborne Division of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force.

The homegrown missile, dubbed “Shafagh” (photo), has a range of 20 kilometers, Brigadier General Heidari said.

“The Iranian helicopters are capable of filming, bombing and missile evasion,” he stated, adding that by installing night vision systems, they can carry out night combat operations in a remarkable way.
