Qatar’s Minister of Interior Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and Chairman of the Security Committee HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani held talks with Minister of Interior of Morocco Abdelouafi Laftit in Doha (photo).
During the meeting at the National Command Centre (NCC), the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest and reviewed existing cooperation between Qatar and Morocco in the field of security. They also explored ways to strengthen and further develop this cooperation, with the aim of enhancing joint action.
Following the talks, Laftit toured the NCC, where he was briefed on its core functions and its command-and-control systems.He was shown the advanced technologies used for monitoring, analysis, decision-making support, and the management of events and crises, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The visiting Minister also learned about the role of the Tournament Command Centre (TCC) in overseeing and securing major sporting events and how it contributes to effective response and heightened operational readiness.
Earlier, Qatar’s Minister of Interior met with Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States of America Kristi Noem at the National Command Centre (NCC) on Thursday. The Qatari Minister toured the NCC with the Homeland Security.
During the visit, she was briefed on the NCC’s command and control systems, advanced monitoring and analytical technologies, its role in supporting decision-making and managing events and crises.
The tour also included the Tournament Command Centre (TCC), where she reviewed the operational systems used to monitor and secure major sporting events. These systems contribute to enhanced response efficiency and a high level of operational readiness in line with international best practices in security operations management.
It’s worth mentioning that the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also met with Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States of America Kristi Noem and her accompanying delegation in his office at Lusail Palace on Wednesday. The meeting discussed the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them. It also discussed a number of issues and topics of common concern.
