The Security Cooperation Committee between the Saudi and Malaysian governments held its meeting Tuesday in Riyadh, chaired by Saudi Public Security Director Lieutenant-General Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Bassami and Malaysian Deputy Secretary-General (Security) Dato’ Hj Abdul Halim bin Hj Abdul Rahman.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed areas of security cooperation and discussed several topics of mutual interest, alongside exploring ways to enhance coordination mechanisms and exchange expertise, contributing to the strengthening of security work in both countries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Later, Malaysian Deputy Secretary General (Security) Dato’ Hj Abdul Halim bin Hj Abdul Rahman, and his accompanying security delegation, visited the innovation center and the technical indicators center at the General Directorate of Public Security in the Saudi capital.
The delegation reviewed key digital initiatives and solutions that support security operations, enhance efficiency and strengthen technical readiness.
They also received a briefing on the roles of the centers in supporting security decision-making, improving institutional capabilities and integrating technical systems.
The delegation praised the use of technology and innovation in security work and highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise and benefiting from the Saudi digital security transformation for joint cooperation.
