The first meeting of the Joint Security Committee for Cooperation in Crime Prevention between the Ministries of Interior of Qatar and Saudi Arabia was held in Doha on Tuesday.
The Qatari side was led by Director-General of Public Security Major-General Mohammed Jassim Al Sulaiti, while the Saudi side was headed by Director-General of Public Security Lieutenant-General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Bassami.
The meeting discussed several topics and explored avenues for cooperation to enhance efforts in combating and preventing crime, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The meeting was also attended by several leaders and officials from both the Ministries of Interior and Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
In another development, the General Administration of Medical Services, part of the Saudi Ministry of Interior, showcased cutting-edge applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare during the Global Health Exhibition 2024.
Held in Malham, Saudi Arabia from October 21 to 23, the exhibition highlighted advancements aimed at improving the health and humanitarian efforts provided by security and service sectors, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Saudi Ministry’s pavilion featured AI applications in several key areas, including accelerated diagnosis and treatment, modern surgical techniques, prevention strategies, disease prediction, and smart patient interaction. These technologies are designed to enhance the efficiency and quality of medical services offered to citizens and security personnel alike.
Additionally, the exhibition presented an overview of the evolution of the Saudi Ministry’s medical services, from their inception to the present, alongside a visual display of the latest medical technologies. Interactive presentations on AI’s future role in the Ministry’s healthcare services were also featured, particularly in the medical city projects in Riyadh and Jeddah, showcasing how these innovations will shape the future of healthcare.
