KORD Assault Rifle Makes its Debut at IDEX 2021

According to Rosoboronexport press-service, the company’s pavilion is to be home the KORD 6P68 7.62mm assault rifle which makes its international debut at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.

The assault rifle claims to have “wonders of accuracy of shooting in the hands of Special Forces soldiers”. The rifle has been designed and manufactured by the High Precision Weapons subsidiary - Degtyarev Plant based in the town of Kovrov, two hundred kilometers east of Moscow.

The name KORD is a Russian acronym for Kovrov Weapons by Degtyarev.

Experts especially note its unique characteristics in automatic firing mode thanks to the innovative balanced automation system.

Extensive experience in creating machine guns, sniper rifles and other weapons allowed the manufacturer to select the most modern light and strong alloys for high reliability of weapons, and constant interaction with law enforcement agencies – to develop the most convenient design for performing various tasks.

The weapon sighting range is 800 m, its weight with 30 rounds magazine is 3.5 kg.

The 6P68 assault rifle is a new member of the of the KORD small arms family which also includes 7.62mm machine gun.

Other small arms novelties to be noticed at the Rosoboronexport pavilion is the AK-19 submachine gun and PLK Lebedev compact pistol.
