Chairman of the meeting Major General Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Shehri gave a speech welcoming the attendants, considering this meeting an extension to what was discussed in the 30th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Interior in the United Arab Emirates last December, which included the recommendation to study the proposal to establish a GCC Police Force, within the belief of the necessity to achieve security cooperation between the GCC countries, in accordance with the current challenges.
Major General Mohammed Al-Shehri pointed that the meeting is held under delicate security circumstances and the current developments and major transformations the world, and the region in specific, are experiencing.
The participating representatives discussed in their meetings the foundations and principles to achieve a unified GCC vision to establish a Police Force that aims to consolidate security and stability in the countries involved.
