EDGE Group’s Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding (ADSB) announced the commencement of the production of the Falaj3 Class Fast Patrol Vessels with a Steel Cutting Ceremony at ADSB Yard for the First of Class (FOC) vessel held on 21st December 2022.

This milestone represents the successful completion of the design phase and confirms the capability of ADSB and its determination to continue to be a regional leader in military shipbuilding and a strategic partner to the UAE Ministry of Defence.

ADSB was awarded the contract to build four Falaj 3 Class Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) for the UAE Navy in 2021. With its partners and with invaluable support from the UAE Navy, it has successfully completed the design phase of the project on schedule.

The Falaj 3 Class of FPVs is a complex high speed warship with a state of-the-art sensors and combat systems and will be a significant addition to the UAE Navy capability.

Running one of the largest and most advanced shipyards in the Middle East, ADSB operates three main naval programmes: Corvettes, offshore patrol vessels and fast interceptor vessels. The company also provides a full range of services including maintenance, repair and refit, upgrade and conversion, as well as design and engineering consultancy.

ADSB is part of the Platforms & Systems cluster at EDGE, an advanced technology group which ranks among the top 25 military suppliers in the world.
