Under the directives of the Saudi leadership, Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met Wednesday with Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan in Doha.
During the meeting, the Saudi Minister conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Amir of Qatar. He also conveyed their wishes for further progress and prosperity to the government and people of Qatar.
In turn, Sheikh Tamim reciprocated with his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince.
The meeting reviewed the strong relations between the two brotherly nations. The two sides also discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to address them, as well as topics of mutual interest, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
From the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Affairs Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
From the Qatari side, attendees included Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, and Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi.
In another development, the Saudi Ministry of Interior concluded its participation in the security exhibition held alongside “Arabian Gulf Security 4,” the joint tactical exercise for the security agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, which was hosted by the State of Qatar from January 30 to February 4 at Mall of Qatar.
The Ministry’s pavilion attracted strong attendance and engagement from exhibition visitors, who were introduced to the Kingdom’s efforts in combating drug smuggling at the local, regional, and international levels.
The pavilion showcased the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance the security and safety of citizens, residents, and visitors, as well as to improve crowd management. It also highlighted the Ministry of Interior’s electronic services provided through the Absher platform.
Meantime, the Saudi Security Force also concluded its mission in “Arabian Gulf Security 4” by taking part in the security activities during the exercise’s closing ceremony on Wednesday.
The ceremony featured field security scenarios, including responding to an attack targeting an economic facility, dealing with maritime disasters, confronting armed robbery, and controlling riots. These scenarios highlighted the distinguished level of operational integration among the security agencies of GCC states, as well as their skills and capabilities in efficiently addressing various security challenges.
