His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, received Tuesday Yasar Guler, Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Türkiye.
The meeting reviewed strategic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the military and defence domains, and means to develop them to serve common interests and enhance coordination amidst escalating security challenges in the region, the Amiri Diwan said in a statement.
The meeting also addressed the developments in the regional and international arenas, as well as international efforts to support international security and stability.
Furthermore, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also met with the visiting Minister of National Defence of Turkiye Yasar Guler in Doha on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States of America and Iran, and the necessity of solidifying it to strengthen security and stability, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
In another development, the Qatari Prime Minister received a phone call from Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud Wednesday.
During the call, the latest developments in the region were reviewed, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States of America and Iran, and the need to uphold it in a way that contributes to enhancing security and stability.
Both sides affirmed the need to strengthen coordination and intensify joint efforts to halt the escalation, paving the way to address the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, ultimately leading to a final agreement that achieves lasting peace.
The Prime Minister also received a phone call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Dr. Ayman Al Safadi.
During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States of America and Iran, and the need to uphold it in a manner that contributes to strengthening security and stability.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of all parties responding to ongoing mediation efforts, which would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to a sustainable agreement and preventing renewed escalation.
He also underscored the necessity of keeping maritime corridors open, ensuring freedom of navigation, and refraining from using them as tools of pressure or bargaining.
