Advanced Training Centre Opens at Al Sumood Camp in Oman

General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, opened Sunday the Advanced Training Centre at Al Sumood Camp of the Sultan’s Special Force (SSF).

This comes on the occasion of the annual day of the Sultan’s Special Force, which falls on the 15th of March every year.

During the opening, the Minister of the Royal Office was briefed on the Centre’s facilities and the roles and tasks assigned to it. He also witnessed the execution of a practical demonstration that included several field exercises within the Centre’s areas of expertise.

The Minister of the Royal Office pinned the Excellent Service and Royal Commendation medals on several senior officers, commissioned officers, and non-commissioned officers of the Sultan’s Special Force, in appreciation of their dedication and sincerity in performing their national duty.

On this occasion, Major General Musallam Mohammed Jaaboub, Commander of the Sultan’s Special Force, pinned the Special Service Medal and the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on several commissioned and non-commissioned officers of the force.

He also honored a number of distinguished personnel in appreciation of their efforts and contributions in performing their tasks and duties with utmost efficiency and capability, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

In another development, the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt held a session of consultations Monday. This took place when Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister received Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The two sides reviewed the latest developments concerning the current military escalation in the region. They expressed their deep concern over this escalation and its expanding scope, agreeing on the paramount importance of halting it and working to end the war.

They further emphasized the need to enhance political and diplomatic solutions, and to employ reason and dialogue to spare the region from sliding into utter chaos as a result of continued escalation and the broadening of the conflict.

The two Ministers renewed their rejection and condemnation of all military actions targeting Arab countries. They stressed the importance of stopping these actions immediately, maintaining the policy of good neighborliness, and consolidating the principles of regional cooperation.

Furthermore, both sides agreed on the importance of continuing their joint efforts to push for political and diplomatic solutions to preserve regional and international peace and security.

They strongly reaffirmed the necessity of respecting the Charter of the United Nations, the rules of international law, and international humanitarian law.
