Rear Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), received Wednesday at his office Lt. General Ahmed Fathy Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces (photo), and his accompanying military delegation, who are currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.

Upon his arrival at the SAF Headquarters, the Egyptian Chief of Staff was accorded an official reception ceremony. The guard of honour performed the military salute, followed by the playing of the honorary salute by the military band, after which the guest inspected the guard of honour.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed several military topics of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed covering several military fields. The MoU was signed on behalf of the Omani side by Rear Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and for the Egyptian side by Lt. General Ahmed Fathy Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Yousifi, SAF Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning.

For his part, General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, also received the visiting Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

Al Nu’amani emphasized the depth of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The guest expressed his appreciation for the Sultanate of Oman's positions regarding numerous regional and international files and its active roles in bridging perspectives. During the meeting, cordial conversations were exchanged, joint cooperation fields were reviewed, and a number of matters of interest were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces.

In a separate meeting, Major General Hamed Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy of Strategic and Defense Studies, also received the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed matters related to academic cooperation. The meeting was attended by Air Commodore Mohammed Aziz Al Siyabi, Head of the Center for Strategic and Defense Studies, and Air Commodore Ali Rashid Al Abri, Director General of Studies and Academic Affairs at the Academy.

The Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces also visited the National Defense College (NDC) at Bait Al Falaj Camp today. He was received upon arrival by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC.

The Egyptian Chief of Staff was briefed on the College’s academic programs and its strategic curriculum, which focuses on preparing national high-level competencies. He also toured the various departments and facilities of the college.

Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), received Wednesday Lt. General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Gharibi, Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, and the military delegation accompanying him.

Upon the arrival of the Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces at the Royal Navy of Oman headquarters, the Guard of Honor performed a military salute, and the Royal Navy of Oman band played the guard of honor salute, followed by the guest inspecting the ceremonial guard.

During the meeting, several mutual military topics were discussed. The two sides also exchanged views on various matters of common interest.

Furthermore, the Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, and his accompanying military delegation visited the Maritime Security Center (MSC). Upon arrival at the Center’s headquarters, the guest was received by Commodore Adil Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the Maritime Security Center.

During the visit, the guest and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the roles of the Maritime Security Center and its efforts in maintaining the security and safety of the environment and navigation within the maritime zones of the Sultanate of Oman. They also toured the Center’s facilities and were briefed on the modern technologies and systems in the MSC.

Lastly, the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), also received Wednesday Nikolai Patrushev, Aide to the Russian President and Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several military topics, particularly in the maritime fields.
