As part of ongoing modernization of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) inaugurated a new set of modern military systems and equipment.
The inaugural ceremony took place Sunday under the auspices of Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hamad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (photo).
The ceremony, held at Al Murtafa camp, began with a speech about efforts made to enhance RAFO's operational efficiency and improve its technical system by adopting modern solutions in a manner that keeps pace with digital transition taking in Oman.
The ceremony included a presentation showcasing some of RAFO’s equipment, devices and laboratories, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Then, the chief guest launched ‘Esnad’ electronic application designed to support the operational plans of the Air Force in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. He also unveiled the visual identity of RAFO buses and specialized vehicles.
AVM Al Ghafri and the guests toured an exhibition organized on the sidelines of the event that showcased. At the exhibition, they were briefed about the latest equipment and devices with which the RAFO has been supplied.
In another development, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) handed over the Royal commission certificates to a number of Officers who graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, in a ceremony held at Al Murtafa’a Camp Sunday.
The RAO Commander congratulated the officers on their graduation and completion of military training. He commended them for earning the gracious trust and confidence of His Majesty the Supreme Commander as Officers in the Royal Army of Oman. He urged them to exert further effort and dedication in performing their upcoming duties, wishing them continued success.
