His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik conferred Wednesday the Military Order of Oman (Second Class) upon HRH Lt. General Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force.
This honour, bestowed by His Majesty, is in recognition of His Royal Highness’ efforts and contributions to strengthening the bonds of military cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The order was presented by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, when he received the Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force in his office at Al Murtafa’a Camp, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The ceremony was attended by Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO). It was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman and the Military Attaché of Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Muscat.
For his part, General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, received in his office the Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, and his accompanying delegation, as part of his official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Both sides discussed a number of topics of mutual interest. They also reviewed existing areas of military cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance them to serve common interests.
Both sides expressed their pride in the depth of the historical relations linking the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirming their aspirations for further cooperation and coordination across various fields.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), received Tuesday, Lt. General Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, and his accompanying military delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on several military topics of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by a number of Senior Officers from the Royal Air Force of Oman.
