Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti on Monday visited the Northern Military Zone, where he was received by the Zone’s Commander.

Huneiti inaugurated the new headquarters building of the King Talal Mechanised Brigade/3, a unit within the Northern Military Zone, and also opened several new buildings at the 51st Royal Air Defence Field Battalion, according to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) statement.

In the presence of a number of high-ranking JAF officers, the Army Chief listened to a briefing delivered by the Brigade Commander on modernisation and development plans.

The briefing also highlighted the Brigade’s role in securing the border front within its area of responsibility, and its ongoing efforts to counter infiltration and smuggling attempts that threaten national security.

At the end of the visit, Huneiti commended the efforts of the Zone’s personnel and praised their high morale, underlining their distinguished performance and high level of professionalism in executing their duties and tasks.

In another development, the Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Faraya received on Wednesday Fahad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, at Queen Alia International Airport.
