Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force, chaired Tuesday the Bahraini side at the 22nd meeting of the Bahrain-Jordan Joint Higher Committee.
The Jordanian side was chaired by Major General Yousef Ahmed Al Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
Lt. General Al Nuaimi commended the Bahrain-Jordan relations, noting their advanced cooperation across various sectors, particularly in the military field, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Both sides reviewed several items on the committee’s agenda aimed at strengthening military cooperation. They also discussed joint military projects between the Bahrain Defence Force and the Jordanian Armed Forces, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties signed the minutes of the 22nd Bahrain-Jordan Joint Higher Committee meeting, which aims to further develop cooperation and continue the exchange of military expertise between the two countries.
Huneiti said the meeting reflects efforts to enhance cooperation between the armed forces based on brotherly relations, achieving a high level of professional military collaboration in line with the royal visions of both countries.
Huneiti described the talks as a “valuable” opportunity to advance historical military relations to their highest levels, Petra news agency reported.
Later, both Commanders observed the night tactical exercise “Suqur Al Hawashim/6,” held as part of the graduation activities of the Advanced Tactical Aviation Course/14 at King Abdullah II Air Base.
In the presence of the Assistant for Operations and Training and the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force, the two Commanders were briefed on the objectives of the exercise.
The exercise aims to enhance the training and operational efficiency of pilots and air transport personnel. The exercise focused on qualifying participants to conduct both day and night missions, strengthening their capabilities in joint operations and emergency response, including combat search and rescue to boost coordination and integration between the Royal Jordanian Air Force and other formations.
Conducted by units from King Abdullah II Air Base, the exercise featured the participation of the King Abdullah II Royal Special Forces, the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Rapid Intervention Brigade and the Royal Air Force Local Ground Defence Group.
The exercise included air assault operations, air raids, fast-rope insertions, urban assault drills, isolation of high-value targets and air support missions.
Participants demonstrated a high level of competence and professionalism throughout all stages of the exercise.
At the conclusion of the event attended by a number of senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army certificates were presented to the course graduates.
Furthermore, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff also received on Tuesday the Director General for Security and Defense Policy at the German Federal Ministry of Defense, Jasper Wieck, and the accompanying delegation at the General Command headquarters.
During the meeting, Huneiti and the German delegation discussed military cooperation and coordination between the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) and the German Federal Ministry of Defense, as well as ways to enhance collaboration in training and logistics to strengthen bilateral relations and serve common interests.
Several senior JAF and the German Military Attaché in Amman attended the meeting.
Lastly, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff discussed with the Director General of the NATO Military Committee, Lt. General Baltrenas, and his accompanying delegation, aspects of joint military cooperation and coordination.
In a meeting held at the General Command Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, Huneiti and the visiting delegation, in the presence of several senior JAF officers, also went over ways to enhance the JAF-NATO partnership in the areas of training and expertise exchange, aimed to achieve regional security and stability.
