His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan received on Tuesday Chief of Italian Army Staff Lt. General Pietro Serino (photo) at Al Husseiniya Palace.

The meeting covered the strong ties between Jordan and Italy and ways to bolster military and defense cooperation, in addition to the latest regional and international developments, according to a Royal Court statement.

Regional and international efforts to counter terrorism within a holistic approach were also discussed, the statement said.

In another development, the Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yusef Huneiti, and Romania’s Ambassador to Jordan George Christian Mabor held talks in Amman Wednesday on ties and cooperation.
