The Egyptian Armed Forces announced the launch of the joint military exercise “Medusa-14”, set to run for several days across the Mediterranean theatre of operations, Mohammed Naguib Military Base, and a number of Air Force Bases.
The drills include the participation of ground, naval, air, and special forces units from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and France, in addition to 12 other countries taking part as observers, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Sherif Al-Araishi, Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces Training Authority, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to the forces participating in the exercise.
He affirmed that the exercise represents a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and learn about the latest modern military tactics, thereby enhancing military cooperation and supporting joint operations with efficiency and capability.
Following the opening ceremony, the Commanders of the participating nations inspected an exhibition showcasing the weapons and equipment planned to be used throughout the various phases of the exercise. (Source & Photo © Egyptian Ministry of Defense)
