His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Armed Forces, received Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, the Commander of the US Central Command, and an accompanying delegation.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, and Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council, were present.
His Majesty the King welcomed the Commander of the US Central Command and commended the historical strategic ties between the two countries, which have spanned decades and are based on trust, mutual respect, and joint cooperation as friends and allies. His Majesty noted the continued development of bilateral cooperation in defence and military domains and in areas that achieve all objectives and aspirations.
The meeting reviewed regional and international developments, in addition to matters of mutual interest, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
His Majesty the King commended the key and active role played by the United States of America alongside allied countries in strengthening regional and global security and stability.
For their part, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Armed Forces and Prime Minister, also met Monday with Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, the Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), and an accompanying delegation, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Royal Highness highlighted the longstanding Bahrain–US relationship, underpinned by a strategic partnership spanning a number of important sectors, which played a vital role in combating the hostile Iranian aggression.
HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, emphasised the mutual commitment to advancing multisectoral collaboration, particularly within the military and defence sectors, as well as building on existing cooperation and agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA).
As part of the visit, the latest regional and international developments, and issues of mutual interest, were also discussed.
His Royal Highness also noted the United States’ role, alongside allied countries, in safeguarding regional and global security and stability.
Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court; His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; along with several senior officials, also attended the meeting.
