Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), met Thursday Major General Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the Unified Military Command of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Major General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Ruwaili, Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force.
Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the BDF, was present.
During the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief welcomed the GCC Unified Military Command and Peninsula Shield Force Commanders, commending the sustained efforts of both the Unified Military Command and the Peninsula Shield Force in advancing military cooperation, coordination, and joint defence integration.
These efforts, he noted, contribute to safeguarding the gains of GCC member states, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
He reaffirmed the BDF’s firm commitment to the importance and effectiveness of joint military cooperation and the enhancement of collective defence integration, in line with the GCC Joint Defence Agreement.
On Friday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force also received Lieutenant General HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard.
The Commander-in-Chief highlighted the strength and resilience of the Kingdom’s defence system, noting that, with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the continued oversight of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, Bahrain’s military and security forces remain highly vigilant and fully prepared.
He further stressed that personnel across the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, and other relevant agencies work in close coordination, demonstrating strong cohesion, operational readiness, and disciplined performance.
Lastly, he emphasised the critical national role entrusted to these institutions in protecting lives and property, and in upholding security and stability. He affirmed that Bahrain’s military and security forces will continue to stand as a robust line of defence, fully equipped to respond firmly and effectively to any threat to the Kingdom’s security.
