His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, today met with Vice Admiral Curt A. Renshaw, the newly appointed Commander of the United States Naval Forces Central Command, the U.S. Fifth Fleet, and the Combined Maritime Forces, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness highlighted that the longstanding partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America continues to advance across all fields, particularly within military and defence, HRH’s web portal reported.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to further strengthening joint cooperation and coordination and emphasised the importance of building upon the achievements of existing agreements, most notably the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA).
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad extended his best wishes to Vice Admiral Renshaw for success in carrying out his duties.
His Royal Highness also recognised the critical role of the United States, alongside its allies, in strengthening regional security and stability and advancing development efforts worldwide.
During the meeting, both parties discussed issues of mutual interest, ways to enhance the bilateral partnership, and the latest regional and international developments.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, also attended the meeting.
In another development, Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqer Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received Colonel Mourad Afzaz, the Moroccan Military Attaché accredited to Bahrain and residing in Riyadh, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
