BAE Systems announced the appointment of Matthew Foster (photo) as its new General Manager for Oman.
Based in Muscat, Matt Foster’s responsibilities include co-ordination and support of all BAE Systems’ activities in Oman, developing the company’s strategy for the country and forging an even stronger relationship with the customer. He will also have direct accountability for the performance and governance of BAE Systems Oman LLC. He succeeds Andy Carr, who was recently appointed to lead BAE Systems’ Saudi Arabian business.
“We welcome Matt to his new role and are looking forward to benefits he will bring to BAE Systems in Oman. Foster comes to the role after three years as Chief of Staff of International Operating Group at BAE Systems. Prior to that, he worked in BAE Systems’ Saudi Arabian business for seven years, including three based in Riyadh.
Commenting on his appointment, Matt Foster said: “I’m very pleased to be heading up BAE Systems’ operations in Oman, a very important market for us. Having spent a lot of time in the Middle East, it’s great to come back to an exciting region which offers many opportunities for us to develop our partnerships, both with our customers and with local industry.”
The Business Development Team in Oman has been strengthened with the appointment of Toby Broughton as Business Development Director, Oman. Toby, previously Business Development Manager, Africa and Near East, will work closely with Matt and the Gulf region business development team to strengthen customer relations and look at new business opportunities.
