His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan visited Tuesday Saab headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, according to a royal court statement.
The visit aims to explore opportunities for cooperation between the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and Saab, a manufacturer of advanced military equipment and technologies.
His Majesty met with Saab board members and was briefed on the company’s work and development since its establishment in 1937, in addition to its latest products and technologies, particularly radar systems and defence mechanisms.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh accompanied the King on the visit.

Earlier, His Majesty King Abdullah II, was received by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. They discussed the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Sweden, as well as ways to expand cooperation between the two countries.
According to a royal court statement, the meeting, also attended by Queen Silvia of Sweden, covered the latest regional developments, particularly in relation to the Palestinian cause, and ways to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
The volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Sweden reached approximately JD37 million (US$ 52.2 million) during the first seven months of this year, with a trade deficit of JD31 million (US$ 43.7 million) in favor of Sweden, according to data from the Department of Statistics.
The report showed that Jordan’s exports to Sweden amounted to JD3 million (US$ 4.2 million) by the end of July 2025, compared to JD2 million (US$ 2.8 million) during the same period last year. The main exports included plant products, dried dates, food industry goods, and prepared food products.
Meanwhile, imports from Sweden reached JD34 million (US$ 47.9 million), down from JD50 million (US$ 70.5 million) in the corresponding period of 2024. Imports primarily consisted of chemical and pharmaceutical products, machinery and electrical equipment, wood and wood products, and paper and pulp.
In another development, His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call on Tuesday with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, discussed the latest developments in the region.
Discussions covered the need to enhance joint Arab coordination, as well as step up efforts to reach comprehensive calm in the region, Petra news agency reported.
His Majesty King Abdullah II also held on Monday phone calls with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The calls covered key regional developments, as well as ways to maintain joint Arab coordination to restore stability in the region.
Also on Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II held a phone call with United States President Donald Trump. The call addressed the latest developments regarding the plan proposed by President Trump to end the war on Gaza, with His Majesty stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid.
The King emphasized the importance of restoring stability in the region and avoiding any actions that undermine the prospects of achieving peace. The call also touched on the pivotal role of the United States in the region and ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
