Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, on Monday received at the General Command the CEO of Lockheed Martin Middle East Defense Industries, retired US Army General John Nicholson, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting, attended by a number of senior Armed Forces officers, discussed areas of cooperation in defense and military industries aimed at enhancing the Jordanian Armed Forces’ combat and technological capabilities and keeping pace with advances in modern equipment and technologies.

Huneiti emphasized the Armed Forces’ continuous efforts to strengthen its defense system through strategic partnerships with leading international companies, ensuring readiness and efficiency in addressing various security challenges, Petra news agency reported.

For his part, Nicholson commended Jordan’s role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in promoting regional security and stability, affirming the company’s commitment to providing advanced technological solutions to meet partners’ defense and security needs.

Major General Yousef Huneiti, also received on Monday US Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict Colby Jenkins and his delegation at the General Command.

The meeting focused on joint military cooperation between the two countries, regional and security developments, and efforts to enhance stability in the region.

Huneiti emphasized the strategic partnership between Jordan and the US, appreciating ongoing support across military and defense fields.

Jenkins praised Jordan’s role under King Abdullah II in promoting regional security and stability, highlighting the Jordanian Armed Forces’ contributions to humanitarian efforts and their high standards in training and professionalism.

The meeting was attended by the US Ambassador, the Defense Attaché in Amman, and senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
