Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) will participate as a strategic sponsor in the second Saudi International Maritime (SIM) Forum that will be organized by the Royal Saudi Navy between 15 and 17 November 2022 in Jeddah.

SAMI CEO Eng. Walid Abu Khaled said that the company, through its sponsorship of the second edition of the forum, stresses its pivotal role as a strategic national partner for defense industries through its effective presence in all events that are organized by the Ministry of Defense, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

He noted that the company participates in this forum under the umbrella of SAMI Sea, where it is scheduled to showcase its products on the marine industries and systems, where SAMI seeks to benefit from promising opportunities that such major international forums provide in a way that can boost its status as a national strategic partner for defense industries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

SAMI is participating in the forum along with the top local, regional and international companies that will display their latest equipment, technologies and systems in the field of maritime security, where the event will include an accompanying exhibition and several work sessions that will attract the elite of interested people and specialists from the military and experts in the fields of technology and industry, in addition to several ministries, public institutions, global companies and academies.

The forum, which will be held under the theme: “Protecting Marine Units and Vital Coastal Sites against the Threat of Unnamed Systems”, aims at exchanging views; discussing challenges facing marine units, vital coastal sites and means to protect them; and ways to deal with these threats and their impact on the global economy; and guaranteeing the safety of marine passages, SIM’s website noted.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a leading regional maritime country with a coastline of 3400 kilometers. Through Vision 2030, the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF) will update its future programs to adapt to the changes in the region in the coming years.

An exhibition will be held during the Saudi International Maritime Forum 2022 to bring together local and international maritime companies. Modern marine technologies, equipment, and systems will be displayed at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be an important event where maritime officials and industry leaders will exchange ideas and discuss concerns in an integrated marine environment.
