Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the leading national defense and security company and a Public Investment Fund (PIF) entity, successfully concluded its participation as the Platinum Sponsor of the first Aerospace Connect Forum, which took place at the Ritz-Carlton Jeddah from February 24 to 25, 2025.
The Forum was held under the patronage of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, organized by the National Industrial Development Center, and co-hosted by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
The Forum played a key role in fostering innovation, advancing the localization of aerospace technologies in line with Saudi Vision 2030, and creating a platform for international collaboration and investment to strengthen the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s defense and security sector.
As part of its presence at the event, SAMI highlighted its key aerospace divisions, including SAMI Aerospace, represented by its subsidiaries: SAMI Alsalam Aerospace Industries, SAMI Figeac Aero Manufacturing, SAMI Aerospace Mechanics, and SAMI Advanced Electronics Company (SAMI AEC).
At the SAMI pavilion, SAMI Figeac Aero presented its latest aerospace innovations, including lightweight metal components used in aircraft frames, floor beams, wing ribs, and fuselage panels. The company also showcased F-15SA pylons, designed for mounting external equipment, such as weapons and fuel tanks, beneath aircraft wings. These pylons are manufactured at SAMI Alsalam Aerospace Industries’ facilities.
Experts from SAMI’s divisions participated in a panel discussion titled “Challenges and Opportunities in Saudi Aerospace and Aviation,” where they highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance local manufacturing capabilities in the aerospace sector and identified key opportunities for future growth.
On the sidelines of the Forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, along with Chief Executive Officer of SAMI Eng. Thamer Almuhid and the accompanying delegation, visited the facilities of SAMI Aerospace Mechanics and SAMI Figeac Aero Manufacturing.
The delegation reviewed ongoing progress, the latest advanced manufacturing technologies, and industrial capabilities in aerospace, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to localizing 50 percent of Saudi Arabia’s military spending by 2030.
