To help raise Saudi Arabia’s international standing in military industries, the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) is coordinating the Saudi pavilion’s participation in this year’s China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2024), according to a GAMI press release.
This prominent event, recognized as one of the largest global aviation exhibitions, is taking place from November 12 to 17 in Zhuhai, China.
Various government entities and national companies specializing in the military industries sector will be part of the Saudi pavilion, which offer visitors the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in technologies and equipment in this field.
The Saudi participation in international events such as this aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as one of the fastest-growing economies among the G20 nations, and seeks to foster fruitful international partnerships to empower and develop the military industries sector. It also underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to welcoming investors from around the globe, and presents the key military sector objectives in Saudi Vision 2030.
The Saudi pavilion will showcase a variety of military products and equipment, particularly in the aviation sector. It will highlight the government’s endeavor to boost national military manufacturing capabilities, and to localize over 50% of government spending on military equipment and services by 2030.
It also aims to introduce the potential of the Saudi defense and military industries, as well as the investor-friendly environment and the many promising investment opportunities in the sector.
GAMI collaborates with its partners - beneficiary and supportive government entities -to enable national companies and major international firms operating in the military industries sector. This collaboration aims to localize and enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities, preparing the sector to become a significant contributor to the prosperity of the Saudi economy and bolster its defense and security independence.
Several government entities are participating alongside GAMI in the Saudi pavilion at the exhibition, including the Ministry of Investment, the General Authority for Defense Development, and public companies involved in the military industries sector such as the National Company for Mechanical Systems, WAKEB Company for Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, Milestone Aviation Services, and Homat Al Watan Company.
GAMI works with its public and private sector partners to contribute to the support and growth of the national economy. It does so based on policies and regulations that have created a favorable environment for investors in the military industries in the Kingdom.
Investment in this sector is now more straightforward than ever, owing to the market size, its positive impact on other sectors, and its competitive advantages, in addition to GAMI’s development of the industrial participation program and its policy.
