Sultan Qaboos Military College Conducts “Shield 30” Field Exercise for Officer Cadets

The Sultan Qaboos Military College at the Royal Army of Oman Academy conducted a field exercise for the final training exercise, “Shield 30,” for its officer cadets.

The exercise was held under the auspices of Major General Musallam Mohammed Jaaboub, Commander of the Sultan’s Special Force. Also in attendance was Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, and a number of other senior officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security units.

The exercise took place in the Royal Army of Oman training grounds in Dhofar Governorate, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The patron of the event and the attendees were briefed on the various stages and training objectives of the exercise. They then observed the field exercise, which was conducted with live ammunition according to the planned scenario.

In another development, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, pinned the flying wings to graduates of the Royal Air Force of Oman’s (RAFO) aviation course.

The graduates successfully completed all training stages and various flying skills. HH Sayyid Shihab also presented the His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Aviation to Flying Officer Salim Ibrahim Al Hamrashdi for achieving first place overall in the aviation course.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, and a number of other senior officers from RAFO.
