The French government has bestowed the “Order of Maritime Merit” on Commodore Adil Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of Oman’s Maritime Security Centre, in recognition of his efforts in enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime security between Oman and France.
The medal was conferred on Commodore Al Busaidi by Rear Admiral Hugues Laine, Commander of the French Forces deployed in the Indian Ocean. The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Maritime Security Centre.
Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of Oman’s National Defence College (NDC) received in his office at Bait Al Falaj Camp Rear Rear Admiral Hugues Laine, Commander of the French Forces deployed in the Indian Ocean.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
During the visit, the Commander of the French Forces deployed in the Indian Ocean delivered a lecture on strategic issues in the Indian Ocean and their implications on various countries.
The meeting was attended by the several Senior Officers of Sultan Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security units.
Lastly, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Camp a delegation from the Authority for Supplies of the Saudi Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the two sides explored areas of mutual military cooperation. They also discussed several matters of mutual interest. Several Senior RAO Officers attended the meeting.
In another development, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) visited Wednesday the Defence and Security Equipment International “DSEI Japan 2025” exhibition, held in Tokyo.
The SAF Chief of Staff and his accompanying military delegation toured the exhibition and the various companies participating in the DSEI Japan 2025. He also attended several discussion panels held at the sidelines of the exhibition.
Furthermore, Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces met in Tokyo with General Yoshihide Yoshida, Japan’s Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff.
During this meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest.
The meeting and the DSEI Japan 2025 opening ceremony were attended by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan.
