The Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies in the Sultanate of Oman celebrated the opening of the 37th course the Joint Command and Staff College for Officers.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Air Commodore Ahmed Mohammed Al Mashaikhi, Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
At the outset of the ceremony, held at the College’s headquarters at Bait Al Falaj, Air Commodore Al Mashaikhi delivered a speech in which he urged the Officers to take advantage of the advanced course so that they could be an example of dedication to military professionalism and discipline. He also welcomed student officers from other GCC states, wishing them a happy stay in Oman.
The ceremony included a visual presentation about the college’s march and accomplishments.
On 15 May 2022, the Sultan of Oman issued Royal Decree 27/2022 for establishing the Strategic and Defense Studies Academy and promulgating its system.
The Academy combines Oman’s National Defence College, the Joint Command and Staff College, and the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies.
