Iraq’s Chief of Staff Attends “Assault of Truth” Mobilization Exercise

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, attended the exercise “Saulat Al-Haq” (Assault of Truth) mobilization of units on one side, a mechanized infantry brigade in a planned attack with the support of Army Aviation and Air Defense.

His Excellency listened to a detailed explanation given by the Commander of the Ground Forces and the Commander of the 25th Division regarding the exercise and the purpose of training commanders and officers on the context of planning and managing joint operations and training on preparing fire plans in offensive and defensive operations, as well as how to provide artillery support.

Afterwards, the ground and air units carried out the exercise segments on the ground, achieving great success in detecting and dealing with enemy targets, in addition to inspecting the areas by the infantry brigades and with the support of the rest of the participating units.

The exercise was attended by the two Assistant Chiefs of Staff of the Army (operations-training), the General Military Inspector, the Commanders of Weapons and Divisions, the Directors of Branches and Directorates, and the Commanders of Formations, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Earlier, Lieutenant General Ahmed Salim Bahjat, Secretary General of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, visited on Monday the General Directorate of Contracts and Sales at the Ministry of Defense, where he was received by the Director General, Mr. Uday Abdul Zayer Salman.

The visit was to offer congratulations to the Director General on assuming his new role, as well as to review the workflow, monitor the established administrative and organizational procedures, assess key achievements, and discuss ways to address obstacles and challenges to enhance institutional performance and improve the overall quality of work.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Secretary General extended his congratulations to all members of the Directorate on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing them continued success and prosperity, and praying that God would bring this blessed occasion back to Iraq and its people with goodness, peace, security, and stability.
