President of Iraqi Military Academy Visits Military Medical School

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the President of Iraqi Military Academy, Vice Admiral Dr. Ahmed Omran Abdul, conducted a field visit to the Military Medical School to observe the training process for the 16th qualifying course for female cadets.

The visit included a tour of the classrooms and monitoring the end-of-first-stage examinations, during which he assessed the students’ academic and practical performance.

During his meeting with the cadets, the President emphasized the importance of discipline and commitment to training duties in developing the officers’ professional and academic character, offering several directives to enhance their performance.

At the conclusion of the visit, he stressed the necessity for the training staff to adhere to the curriculum, work to strengthen academic rigor, and raise the efficiency of training in accordance with established military standards, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Army General Staff organized Monday a conference on cybersecurity awareness and education, attended by staff officers and a number of enlisted personnel and employees.

During the conference, the Director of Cybersecurity Operations presented a detailed briefing covering the concept of cybersecurity, its application within the Ministry of Defense, methods for securing information, networks, and data, and ways to protect against security breaches. He also reviewed its main advantages and disadvantages.

At the conclusion of the conference, attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions and offer comments and opinions on the topics presented, contributing to enhanced cybersecurity awareness among personnel.

In another development, the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Engineer Shwan Mazhar Ali Rawanduzi, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Mr. Anil Bora Inan, at his office in the Ministry headquarters.

The Turkish Military Attaché was also present, along with the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Lieutenant General Pilot Falah Faris.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary-General welcomed the guest, emphasizing the deep-rooted relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Republic of Turkey. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the defense and military fields.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues of mutual interest and explored ways to develop bilateral cooperation to enhance security and stability in the region. They also exchanged views on current security challenges.
