Egyptian Armed Forces Medical College Organizes Second Medical Conference

In continuation of the pioneering role played by the Egyptian Armed Forces in enriching the medical field with the latest scientific research and technological advancements, the Armed Forces Medical College organized its Second Medical Conference under the title “Rising Stars.”

The conference, held over several days, witnessed the participation of an elite group of professors and experts representing a wide range of medical disciplines, along with a number of military attachés from brotherly and friendly countries, and was attended by several Armed Forces Commanders, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The opening session began with a speech delivered by Major General (Dr.) Ayman Mohamed Shawky, Director of the Armed Forces Medical College, who emphasized the importance of the conference as a valuable opportunity for the exchange of scientific and research expertise aimed at enhancing the capabilities and competencies of physicians. He pointed out that modern medicine has become an ever-evolving science that relies on research, continuous learning, and integration among its various specialties to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.

In his address, Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, highlighted the continuous support provided by the Egyptian State to the healthcare system in order to keep pace with the rapid developments in the medical field. He expressed his appreciation to the Armed Forces for their sustained efforts in organizing scientific events that foster the exchange of knowledge and the development of human resources to enhance performance and efficiency across the healthcare sector.

Meanwhile, Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, extended her gratitude to the Armed Forces for their tireless efforts in supporting state institutions across various sectors. She praised the decision to open admission for female candidates to the Armed Forces Medical College, providing equal opportunities for young women to serve their beloved homeland.

The conference activities included a series of scientific sessions, lectures, and training workshops covering multiple medical specialties, with the participation of both military and civilian doctors as well as international experts in their respective fields

In another development, the Armed Forces Medical Services Department Signed Two Cooperation Protocols with Cairo University Faculty of Medicine and the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance, and Organizes the 10th Armed Forces Psychiatry Conference.

The first protocol was signed with the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, and the second with the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance, affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population.

The protocol with Cairo University aims to establish a framework for joint cooperation, scientific and research exchange, and the provision of technical and applied consultation. It also includes training medical cadres from both sides in rare and highly specialized fields to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.

Meanwhile, the protocol with the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance seeks to strengthen coordination and integration between both parties, including the implementation of a framework for receiving patients affiliated with the Authority in Armed Forces hospitals based on official referral letters specifying the required medical services.

In a related context, the Armed Forces Medical Services Department, in cooperation with the Military Medical Academy, organized the 10th Armed Forces Psychiatry Conference, which took place over two days with the participation of psychiatry departments from Armed Forces hospitals, the Ministry of Health and Population, Egyptian universities, and a distinguished group of military and civilian professors and specialists in the field of psychiatry.

The conference featured a series of scientific sessions, workshops, and research paper discussions addressing key topics such as addiction and its psychological implications, stress-related disorders, trauma, and modern therapeutic approaches across all levels of psychiatric care following case evaluation and eligibility confirmation.
