General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Mr. Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting took place at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, where an official reception ceremony was held. Military bands performed the national anthems of both countries during the event.
The discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing military cooperation in various fields, exchanging expertise between the armed forces of both nations, and aligning perspectives on a range of international and regional issues, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces expressed his pride in the historic relationship between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and military collaboration between both countries’ Armed Forces.
On his part, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina highlighted his country’s eagerness to strengthen military ties with Egypt, commending Egypt’s pivotal role and active participation in addressing various international and regional issues, as well as its support for security and stability efforts in the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Heads of the main branches of the Armed Forces, and several senior military leaders from both countries, along with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Cairo.
In another development, the Egyptian Armed Forces, represented by the People’s Defense and Military Affairs Department, organized two visits for faculty members and students from Mansoura and Beni Suef Universities. The visits took place to the Egyptian Military Academy and the National Cement Factory Complex in Beni Suef.
The first visit included a tour by the students of Mansoura University within the Egyptian Military Academy, where the delegation received a detailed explanation of the academy’s educational facilities for various military disciplines.
The Academy’s operational system, which integrates the latest developments in military science and technological advancements, was showcased. This system aims to produce Officers capable of excelling in their future military careers. The Academy also plays a vital role in cooperating with various Ministries and civil society institutions to organize courses that benefit the nation’s youth, tailored to their respective fields of work in different sectors.
In a related context, the Popular and Military Forces organized a visit for faculty members and students from Beni Suef University to the National Cement Factory Complex in Beni Suef.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the massive production capacity of the complex, which aims to secure Egypt’s strategic needs for cement and meet the demands of the national urban development witnessed in recent years through housing and construction projects. The complex also contributes to providing thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for the people of Upper Egypt, as it is one of the largest cement production complexes in the Middle East.
