Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, met in Cairo Lieutenant General Karel Rehka, Chief of the Czech General Staff (photo), and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting dealt with the ways of supporting and developing prospects of military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two friendly countries in many fields, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces emphasized the depth of the Egyptian-Czech historical relations that extend over decades, expressing his aspiration that the next stage would witness more coordination and cooperation in a way that achieves the common interests of both countries, praising the distinguished participation of the Czech elements within the multinational force in Sinai.

The Chief of the Czech General Staff praised the active Egyptian efforts to support security and stability regionally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by a number of leaders of the Armed Forces and the accompanying delegation.

In another development, General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, accompanied by Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief-o- Staff of the Armed Forces, met with a number of Commanders of the Armed Forces at Field Marshal Tantawy Military Base, within the framework of the continuous follow-up of the work system within the Armed Forces to fulfill its national responsibilities in preserving Egypt’s national security.

The meeting included a presentation by a number of Commanders of the Armed Forces, in which the Armed Forces work processes and procedures for developing and modernizing are presented.

General Zaki delivered a speech during which he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic of Egypt, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and his pride in the efforts exerted by the men of the Armed Forces to carry out all tasks.

He further stressed the need to maintain the highest levels of efficiency and high combat readiness for units and formations, as well as improving fighters’ skills and physical level through continuous training and high morale.

He also pointed out that the Armed Forces is continuing to develop and modernize its various branches to fulfill the assigned tasks in protecting the homeland and preserving its sanctities. He also recommended increasing the importance of the level of Armed Forces members’ awareness, so that they are fully aware of all the events and changes taking place at all levels. He reviewed the efforts made by the Egyptian state with all its national agencies and institutions to support comprehensive development efforts and provide a decent life for its citizens.

Following the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the Armed Forces’ International Shooting Championship, and honored the winners from the main services, field armies, military zones, and special forces. He also inspected an exhibition of advanced signaling systems using satellites, which represents a major leap in the field of communications and information technology.
