After having been revealed at Eurosatory exhibition, the Nexter Systems XP2 technology demonstrator is prepared to resume a second trials campaign aiming at characterizing its entire driveline.
During these endurance tests, XP2 will be pushed to limits in running over a large spectrum of terrains (sand, mud, roads and tracks).
During the first campaign which lasted from November 2009 to April 2010, XP2 had already shown outstanding reliability and behaviors on road and tracks. The driveline, designed by the R&D bureau of Nexter, combines compactness and lightweight, and is tailored to fulfill targeted requirements.
Design solutions and advanced technologies provide the 2, 55 m wide vehicle with ergonomics equal or even better than bigger existing 8x8 vehicles.
XP2 is a technology demonstrator which shows the Nexter Systems know how in the fields of mobility, protection, human factors, "green rules" compliance, and vetronics. Technologies experimented with XP2 may be used on any combat or multipurpose18-24 class platform.
XP2 is a toolbox developed by the Nexter Systems engineering teams in which they will pick ready- to-use and fully qualified solutions as regards performances and life cycle costs.
XP2 is seen as a major advantage for Nexter towards meeting EBRC and VBMR programs.
