At Eurosatory 2010, Nexter Systems of France and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) of India signed a Consortium Agreement for 155 mm Mounted Gun Artillery program for the Indian Army. Nexter Systems will be the leader of the Consortium.
Under the proposal to India's Ministry of Defence, Nexter Systems will field CAESAR®, a 155 mm/52-calibre weapon system. Nexter Systems has already received orders for more than 180 CAESAR® systems to the defence forces in France, Middle East and Asia.

L&T, in association with Nexter Systems, will manufacture certain sub systems for CAESAR®, integrate the gun systems with the platform and provide support to the Artillery program for the Indian Army. L&T brings to the Consortium its track record of development of various weapon systems for Defence Research & Development Organisation and the Indian armed forces across Land, Naval and Air Defence applications.
