Bahrain’s Royal Guard Commander Meets Top Military, Security Officials in UK

Bahrain’s National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander Major-General, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has lauded the depth of the solid long-standing friendship relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which are growing steadily across all fields.

HH Shaikh Nasser was speaking Friday while meeting the Head of the British Armed Forces, General Sir Nick Carter.

The two sides discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially regarding the exchange of expertise, and cooperation in the military field.

HH Shaikh Nasser commended the role played by the UK to safeguard global security and peace, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

On Thursday, HH Shaikh Nasser met UK Chief of the General Staff General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith (photo). They reviewed ways of consolidating cooperation, exchanging expertise in the defence fields towards serving common interests.

HH Shaikh Nasser also met UK Chief of Defence Staff’s Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, Air Marshal Martin Sammy Sampson.

HH Shaikh Nasser hailed the advanced level of security and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, stressing joint keenness on consolidating regional and global peace and stability, protecting international corridors and securing maritime navigation.

Lastly, HH Shaikh Nasser discussed with British Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser David Quarrey ways of consolidating cooperation and friendship, and exchanging political, security and defence expertise, in addition to regional and international issues of common interest.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad praised Bahrain’s strategic and steadily-growing partnership with the United Kingdom, as well as constructive cooperation to protect international maritime movement and combating organized crime and terrorism, stressing joint commitment to bolstering security and peace in the Middle East and achieving common economic and security interests.

Quarrey welcomed HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad’s visit, which reflects joint keenness to enhance outstanding security and defence partnership, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further security, progress and prosperity.

The meetings were attended by Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
