General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) enters this year’s Farnborough Airshow with a production contract from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) under its belt and growing international demand for Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). In response to this interest, the company is featuring a full-size model of its CCA as part of its exhibit at D-010 (exterior stand).

Last month, GA-ASI received a production contract from the USAF to build the FQ-42A CCA. GA-ASI designed, developed and flight-tested the Air Force’s FQ-42A on an accelerated schedule and created a purpose-built, uncrewed fighter developed as part of its ongoing investment in next-generation semi-autonomous combat aircraft.

“We’re all-in on CCA,” said GA-ASI CEO Linden Blue. “Even before the Air Force contract, we were moving forward into full production. We recently transitioned our main production facility to be able to produce six CCAs per month, and we just completed a high-rate, low-observable coating facility.”

GA-ASI is in discussions with a number of potential customers interested in CCA as part of its Gambit series of CCA. The Gambit CCA is an uncrewed combat jet optimized for attack roles such as electronic warfare, suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses (DEAD) and stand-off precision strike, making it a versatile option for evolving security needs.
