Kuwait’s Chief of the General Staff Lt General Khaled Al-Shuraian discussed ways to strengthen military and defense cooperation with senior Italian officials during an official visit to Italy, the Kuwait Army General Staff said on Friday.

Al-Shuraian held talks in Rome with Italian Chief of Defense Lt General Luciano Portolano following an official reception at the Italian General Staff headquarters.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Kuwait and Italy and explored ways to enhance joint military cooperation and deepen the strategic defense partnership between the two friendly countries.

The discussions also covered regional developments and efforts to promote security and stability, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported

Al-Shuraian later met with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, where they discussed ways to support and further develop defense cooperation, reflecting the close ties between Kuwait and Italy.

The meeting was attended by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy Nasser Al-Qahtani and included an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
