Kuwait Army Chief Unveils Military Strategy 2026-2030

Kuwaiti Army Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan affirmed that the General Staff’s National Military Strategy for 2026-2030 represents a pivotal step in the development of military operations and reflects a firm commitment to enhancing overall readiness and raising performance efficiency to meet the requirements of the next phase.

Lieutenant General Al-Shuraiaan made the remarks during a recent ceremony in which he sponsored and officially launched the National Military Strategy (2026-2030), in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshaal Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, members of the Military Defense Council and Senior Army Officers.

He explained that the strategy aims to modernize the military operations system, raise readiness levels and enhance combat efficiency. It establishes clear foundations for long-term planning, contributes to unifying efforts and integrating roles among various branches, units and formations, and strengthens coordination with the state’s security agencies, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Lieutenant General Al-Shuraiaan further noted that the strategy places particular emphasis on investing in human capital and developing operational capabilities to ensure the Armed Forces’ ability to perform their duties efficiently and effectively under all circumstances and missions.

He added that the launch of the strategy underscores the General Staff’s commitment to raising overall standards, achieving the highest levels of coordination among relevant stakeholders and fostering a culture of continuous development, in support of national security, the protection of state resources and the enhancement of the armed forces’ operational efficiency.
