Bahrain’s National Guard Commander Pays Official Visit to Pakistan

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, arrived in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Islamabad, on an official visit Tuesday.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa was received at Pakistan Air Force Base Nur Khan by General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Pakistan Armed Forces, along with several Pakistani Generals and Army Commanders. Also present were Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Pakistan, and Embassy staff.

Both parties held a meeting at the Air Staff at Air Headquarters, Islamabad (photo) where they reaffirmed their resolve for sustained defence cooperation, placing special emphasis on joint training initiatives and deeper collaboration within the aviation industry.

According to ISPR, Pakistan’s Chief of the Air Staff extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guest, as he briefed the visiting dignitary on the recent advancements of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), highlighting its comprehensive plans of modernization through infrastructure development, revamping of training and induction of niche capabilities.

He further highlighted that these strategic initiatives are aimed at enhancing PAF’s operational preparedness and technological edge in multi-domain warfare. The Air Chief emphasized that Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy deep-rooted religious and historical ties which are reflected in their exemplary military-to-military cooperation and reiterated his resolve to expand the bilateral defence collaboration particularly in the spheres of training, joint exercises and knowledge-sharing.

General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa congratulated the Air Chief on the outstanding performance of Pakistan Air Force in the recent conflict against India, lauding the professional excellence, operational readiness and remarkable courage displayed by PAF personnel. Commander Bahrain National Guard expressed his earnest desire for enhanced collaboration in the field of training and emphasized the significance of joint learning through exercises.

He also conveyed the keen interest of Bahrain Air Force in undertaking bilateral exercises and joint training ventures with PAF, highlighting that such initiatives would serve as a platform for mutual growth and shared operational experience. The follow-up visit reinforced the enduring bonds of brotherhood and defence partnership, with the visiting dignitary lauding PAF’s indigenization drive and praising its leadership for safeguarding regional balance of power.

Meantime, Lieutenant General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, the National Guard Staff Director, also received in Manama Tuesday the Director General of Joint Staff in Pakistan, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The meeting was attended by Major-General Hisham Mohammed Al Zayed, Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Brigadier Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Assistant for Operations and Training, along with a number of senior National Guard Officers.

The meeting included a briefing for the Pakistani delegation on the missions and responsibilities of the National Guard, followed by discussions on prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two sides, particularly through joint exercises, exchange of expertise and capabilities, as well as other issues of shared interest.

The visit highlights the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Pakistan, reflecting mutual cooperation and respect across political, economic, military, and cultural domains. These relations have progressed over time to support the interests of both countries and their people.

Furthermore, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), also received Wednesday the visiting Director General of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Head of the Pakistani delegation participating in the 21st meeting of the Bahrain-Pakistan Joint Military Cooperation Committee.

Lieutenant-General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, was present.
