Qatar’s Amiri Guard Commander Lieutenant-General Staff Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani participated in the opening of the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF), held in Istanbul, Turkiye.
The Amiri Guard Commander and his accompanying delegation toured several pavilions of participating countries and international companies and were briefed on their most prominent exhibits showcasing advanced defence technologies and systems as well as the latest innovations in the military and security industries, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair is held at the Istanbul Expo Center from July 22-27, 2025. The 17th edition of the fair is held simultaneously at the Istanbul Expo Center, Atatürk Airport, Wow Hotel and the Ataköy Marina.
Hosted by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, and supported by the Presidency of Defence Industries, IDEF 2025 is organized by KFA Fairs Organization Inc., under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation.
The exhibition is showcasing various products from armored combat vehicles, tactical armored vehicles, unmanned ground, air and sea vehicles, weapon systems, rockets, long-range anti-tank missile systems, infantry weapons, military simulators, electronic warfare solutions, power groups, to explosive ordnance disposal equipment.
Numerous Turkish companies are also displaying their latest products and technologies at the event, including motors, drones, ammunition and communication devices.
IDEF is an event where state and private sector officials from all corners of the world come together to showcase and discover new products and technologies. In 2023, the fair hosted 1,461 participating companies from 54 countries and 94,198 professional visitors from 107 countries.
In addition to participants and visitors, 187 delegations from 78 countries and 3 international organizations were hosted, with 141 signature ceremonies taking place for national and international contracts. The fair aims to bring together participants and professional visitors from every region in 2025 as well and is continuing its preparations for the upcoming year.
Maintaining its prestigious position among the world’s defence industry fairs, IDEF aims to combine its experience and successes with new concepts in 2025. Participants and professional visitors from all around the world are eagerly anticipating the IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair.
