As part of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ commitment to supporting and participating in the organisation of major international events hosted in Egypt, the Armed Forces organised a Defence Attachés Reception to introduce the second edition of El Alamein International Airshow 2026 (EIAS 2026), which will take place in September 2026 in El Alamein City.
The reception was attended by Lieutenant General Amr Saqr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force; Dr. Sameh El Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation; Dr. Eng. Maged Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Space Agency; a number of Senior Armed Forces Commanders; accredited military and commercial attachés in Egypt; and representatives of leading international aerospace companies.
During the event, the Chairman of the Organising Committee delivered a speech in which he reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to organising the event to the highest standards and providing an outstanding experience for participating countries, companies and visitors.
He noted that the exhibition is one of the most important aviation events in Africa and the Middle East, highlighting its role in facilitating the exchange of expertise among participants and showcasing the latest technologies in aviation and space at a time of rapid global development across both sectors.
The programme included a presentation by the Organising Committee, as well as a documentary film highlighting the success of the previous edition of the exhibition held in Egypt, which attracted major companies and institutions operating across the aviation and space sectors.
The presentation reflected Egypt’s capability to successfully organise an event of this scale and significance, positioning the exhibition as a gateway to Africa and the Middle East for the latest developments in aviation and space technologies. The event continues to attract strong interest from both military and civilian communities.
The upcoming edition is expected to welcome more than 250 exhibitors from 50 countries, feature over 50 flying displays, attract approximately 12,000 visitors and showcase more than 100 aircraft of various types. Official delegations from countries around the world are also expected to participate.
The reception also included presentations from the event’s organising partners, who outlined the future vision for the exhibition and provided updates on the exhibition halls, participating companies and key features planned for the next edition.
The event concluded with networking sessions between military and commercial attachés and representatives of leading organisations within the sector, providing an opportunity to address enquiries and discuss participation opportunities for EIAS 2026.
