The Egyptian and British Naval Forces conducted the joint naval exercise “Alexandria Defenders,” with the participation of elements from the Egyptian Naval Special Forces and the British Special Operations Forces.

The exercise was carried out over several days at Alexandria Naval Base within the Northern Fleet’s area of responsibility, in light of the growing military cooperation between the Egyptian and British Armed Forces aimed at maximizing mutual capabilities and exchanging expertise between both sides.

The exercise included the execution of several maritime training activities, notably visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) operations for suspected vessels, close-quarters combat and hostage rescue drills, battlefield first aid training, medical evacuation procedures for casualties during combat operations, as well as tactical live-fire exercises.

These activities demonstrated the high level of readiness and professionalism achieved by the participating personnel from both sides in carrying out assigned missions, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The concluding phase of the exercise was attended by a number of Senior Naval Commanders from both countries. (Source & Photo © Egyptian Ministry of Defense)
