Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, met with General Luciano Portolano, Chief of the Italian Defence Staff, and his accompanying delegation during their official visit to Egypt. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.

The discussions focused on strengthening avenues of cooperation and partnership between the armed forces of both friendly nations across various fields, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a brief statement.

Lieutenant General Khalifa expressed his deep appreciation for the longstanding relations between the Egyptian and Italian Armed Forces. He emphasized the General Command’s commitment to enhancing military cooperation in ways that serve the mutual interests of both sides.

For his part, General Portolano affirmed Italy’s keenness to foster military relations and the exchange of expertise with the Egyptian Armed Forces in the coming period. He also praised Egypt’s pivotal role and its continuous efforts in promoting security and stability throughout the Middle East.
