UAE President Receives Kuwait’s Chief of General Staff

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan discussed on Tuesday with Kuwaiti Chief of the General Staff Lt General Khaled Al-Shuraian strengthening bilateral defense ties and regional security developments.

The UAE Defense Ministry said the meeting took place within the framework of long-standing fraternal relations and defense cooperation between the two nations, UAE national news agency WAM reported.

The meeting addressed several topics of mutual interest and reviewed aspects of military cooperation and coordination between the two sides, in addition to exchanging views on developments and issues related to military and security affairs.

Both sides emphasized the vital importance of deepening military cooperation to serve shared interests and reinforce security and stability across the region.

Furthermore, Al-Shuraian and UAE Chief of Staff Lt General Issa Al-Mazrouei also held talks on Tuesday to spearhead joint military and defense cooperation. The discussions focused primarily on expanding defense cooperation frameworks, optimizing combat readiness and boosting operational efficiency across both Armed Forces.

Both top military Commanders emphasized the necessity of accelerating knowledge-sharing initiatives and exchanging tactical expertise to address shared security challenges and safeguard regional stability.

In another development, the UAE President received on
Wednesday Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State, who visited the UAE as part of a tour of the Middle East.

The two sides reviewed strategic cooperation between the UAE and US and discussed ways to further strengthen coordination across various fields in support of shared interests.

The meeting also addressed regional and international issues of mutual concern, with a focus on developments in the Middle East. In this regard, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Marco Rubio underscored the importance of advancing the foundations of security, stability, and lasting peace across the region.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and a number of officials.

For his part, the Emir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah also received on Wednesday the visiting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, holding talks over current developments around the Middle East region and bilateral relations.

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said the bilateral talks centered around Kuwait’s historic relations with Washington, in addition to efforts aiming to propel these ties to greater levels.

Current happenings around the Middle East region and the world as a whole was another topic of discussion.
